Security & Close Protection — Your Questions, Answered
Costs, coverage, vetting and how an assignment actually works — from our Birmingham base to nationwide and international cover.
What does close protection cost in the UK?
It depends on the risk profile, the hours and the size of the team. A single operative for an evening event costs very differently from a 24/7 residential detail. Every engagement starts with a free, confidential consultation, after which you receive a clear, fixed proposal — no vague day rates, and an honest view of the level of cover the situation actually needs.
Are your operatives licensed and vetted?
Yes. Our operatives work to close protection standards and are carefully selected and vetted for every assignment — experience, presentation, reliability and discretion all count. We match the operative to the setting: household work, corporate environments and public-facing events each call for a different profile.
Which areas do you cover?
We're based in Birmingham and cover the whole West Midlands — including Solihull, Sutton Coldfield, Wolverhampton, Coventry, Dudley and Walsall — and operate nationwide across the UK, with regular assignments in London and Manchester. International travel protection is available, with particular experience in the United Arab Emirates.
How quickly can you deploy?
For assignments in Birmingham and the West Midlands we can often assess, plan and deploy within days — faster for urgent requirements. Nationwide and international assignments benefit from more notice, but short-notice cover is regularly possible. Contact us with your dates and we'll confirm availability straight away.
What's the difference between close protection and event security?
Close protection is built around a person — planned movements, a protection officer at their side and risks anticipated before they materialise. Event security is built around an occasion — entrances, guest flow, crowd awareness and venue liaison. We deliver both, and many assignments combine them: a protected principal attending a secured event.
Can you provide discreet, non-uniformed security?
Yes — much of our work is deliberately invisible. Operatives in business dress blend into a corporate site, a private dinner or a wedding, providing protection guests never register as security. Where a visible, uniformed presence is the better deterrent, we provide that instead — the posture is agreed with you in advance.
Do you provide residential security?
We do — from overnight static cover and residence checks while you're away, to ongoing protection for family homes. Residential work is one of our core services across Birmingham, Solihull and Sutton Coldfield, and available nationwide.
Do you work internationally?
Yes. We provide international close protection and travel security planned end to end from our UK base — with particular experience on the UK–UAE axis. The officer who collects you in the UK travels with you, so there is no handover risk mid-journey.
Can I hire security for a single day or event?
Absolutely. Single days, evenings and one-off events are common engagements — a business visit, a private party, a high-value purchase or a court appearance. There's no minimum contract; the cover fits the occasion.
